Over the last twelve months we have seen the massive power of the collective conciousness when it works almost as a single entity based on fear - fear of recession. Scientists working at the frontiers of discivery in quantum physics are beginning to prove through repeatable experiments that thoughts are an electromagnetic energy and there is a field of electromagnetic energy we know as the collective conciousness that has been named "The Field" by leading physicists in this area.
Lynne McTaggart a well known author in the UK has written a book that is more accessible to the general public describing some of these amazing breakthroughs in scientific discovery.
 She devotes a chapter to "The Healing Field". One experiment described using mental healing on a group of 96 patients with high blood pressure. Four of the healers were able to achieve a 92.3% improvement in the systolic blood pressure of the patients who received mental healing (power of thought) from these healers in particular. Lynne has been thorough in her reserch an cites 50 pages of references of scientific papers and studies.

I have just reread Dianna Cooper's book " A Little Light on the Spiritual Laws"
"If you drive on the raods without understanding the highway code you will have a confusing and difficult journey. When you learn and apply it your journey becomes safe and pleasant. There is also a code for life on Earth, whch Dianna Cooper reveals in this book."
The book is easy to read and understand all you have to do is learn and apply the spiritual highway code for life on Earth. I would thoroughly recommend it to all who are embarking on their spiritual journey. |

The Australian Government is concerned about reports of unrest in Lhasa. We call on Chinese authorities to act with restraint and to deal with protestors peacefully. We urge the Chinese Government to allow peaceful expression of dissent.
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has been in contact with, and is monitoring the welfare of, eight Australians in Lhasa at this time. Australians in Lhasa are advised to remain indoors until order is restored. Our Embassy in Beijing is working to establish whether there are any other Australians in Lhasa and is ready to provide further assistance.
The Department’s Travel Advice for China was updated on 14 March. It advises Australians to reconsider their need to travel to Lhasa at this time. We encourage Australians in Lhasa to register or update their contact details with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and where possible, through smartraveller.gov.au.
Australians in difficulty in Lhasa can contact the Department’s 24-hour Consular Emergency Centre on +61 2 6261 3305. |

Australian actress Cate Blanchett has been nominated for two awards in this years Academy Awards to be announced on the 24th Feb, 2008. She has been nominated three times before and won the best actress in a supporting role fot "The Aviator" in 2004. This year she has been nominated in the Best Actress in a Leading Role for her portrayal of Elizabeth in "Elizabeth: The Golden Age" and as Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her portrayal of Jude in "I'm not There". Cate is a graduate of the Australian National Institute of Dramatic art. |

"The Appeal" by John Grisham

John Grisham's latest has reached the Best Sellers List of Amazon.com and the New York Times.
"TheAppeal begins with the shocking conclusion to a lawsuit filed against Krane Chemical by Jeannette Baker, a young woman who lost her son and husband to cancer within eight months. The $41 million settlement is unprecedented, and Krane isn't taking it lightly. Jeannette is only one of hundreds of people in fictional Bowmore, Miss., who have been affected by Krane's decades of dumping toxic waste in what has come to be known as Cancer County USA.
If the chemical company doesn't get a reversal on appeal, future lawsuits on behalf of more than 160 cancer victims will drain its deep pockets, especially the gold-lined wallet of owner Carl Trudeau. He has vowed those "ignorant people" won't get a dime of his money.
Meanwhile, he's spending millions of his billions on his vapid trophy wife, junk art and most important, electing a limited-liability justice to the Mississippi Supreme Court who will deny Jeannette's monetary award on appeal.

More than a novel, The Appeal is an exposé of how highly organized special-interest groups, loaded with cash, can manipulate the judicial system. It's Grisham's bully pulpit for reform.
"There's a lot of truth in this story," Grisham writes in an author's note. "As long as private money is allowed in judicial elections we will see competing interests fight for seats on the bench."
It's an easy leap from the fictional microcosm Grisham creates in The Appeal to real-world politics.

| Just finished reading "The Amber Warning" by Robert Ludlum. It is a fast paced thriller and very difficult to put down. It feels like there is a new conspiracy on every page. I would give it a rating of 9/10. Happy reading |

Ingredients: 1 litre of stock (vegetable, chicken, beef or lamb) 1 Finely Chopped Onion 2 Finely Chopped Carrots 6 - 8 Diced Potatoes to desired thickness Parsley for garnish Salt & Pepper to taste
Method:
1. Bring stock to the boil
2. Add all ingredients including salt & pepper
3. Simmer for 30- 40 minutes
4. Add Parsley in the last five minutes. 5 . Serve steaming hot with crusty bread roll, scottish bap or damper |
