Australian actress Cate Blanchett has been nominated for two awards in this years Academy Awards to be announced on the 24th Feb, 2008. She has been nominated three times before and won the best actress in a supporting role fot "The Aviator" in 2004. This year she has been nominated in the Best Actress in a Leading Role for her portrayal of Elizabeth in "Elizabeth: The Golden Age" and as Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her portrayal of Jude in "I'm not There". Cate is a graduate of the Australian National Institute of Dramatic art.
